Bazi's predictive backbone is the Luck Pillars (Da Yun) system β fixed 10-year cycles that begin at a calculated age and proceed in sequence throughout your life, plus the Annual Pillar that changes with each Chinese solar year. This gives Bazi a distinctive chapter-like structure: you live through distinct 10-year "books" of your life, each with a clear thematic energy. Many practitioners find this framework more actionable for long-term planning than the continuous flow of Western transits.
Accuracy and Personalization
Is one system more accurate than the other? The honest answer is that both can be remarkably precise in the hands of a skilled practitioner β and both can be vague in the hands of a novice. Bazi has the advantage of being rooted in over 1,000 years of systematic case study with a highly structured interpretive framework. Because Bazi uses only eight characters and a finite set of interactions (combinations, clashes, the 10 Gods), it is more deterministic than Western astrology, which has a near-infinite number of possible chart configurations when you factor in degrees, house systems, and minor aspects.
